Takayama Chasen Matcha Whisk
Experience the artistry and tradition of matcha with the Komakichi Kubo Chasen, crafted by Japan’s youngest master chasen maker. Komakichi hails from a family whose seven-generation legacy is rooted in the birthplace of chasen making in Nara, Japan. Around 17 authentic Japanese Takayama chasen makers exist today.
Hand-carved from old-growth white bamboo, each whisk is a testament to centuries-old techniques passed down as closely guarded secrets. The delicate, flexible tines are meticulously split and shaped to create the perfect froth and consistency for matcha, embodying both strength and elegance. With only a limited number produced each year, these whisks are rare masterpieces, blending tradition and functionality into a tool that transforms matcha preparation into a ceremony of craftsmanship.
